1970 marked the beginning of the illustrious solo career of Curtis Mayfield. He started things off with the social and political themed Curtis. With song titles such as 'Miss Black America,' 'Power To The People,' 'Ghetto Child,' and 'We The People Who Are Darker Than Blue,' Curtis is a reflection of life in 1970's black America, from poverty to the Civil Rights Movements, and feelings of black consciousness and black pride. Mayfield's somber recording of 'The Other Side of Town' is included on his self titled debut. 'The Other Side Of Town' gives an all acess pass to the bleak realities of ghetto life. Press play and discover life on the other side of town.
