Hard Times @ Douglass High
Take a look at this clip for the new HBO doc "Hard Times at Douglass High: A No Child Left Behind Report Card." Premiering tonight at 9, "Hard Times at Douglass High" takes a look at the brutal inequalities of America's minority education using Frederick Douglass High School as a focal point. Filmmakers Alan & Susan Raymond spent an entire year filming at the inner city Baltimore school, were two-thirds of teachers are non-certified and many students lack basic reading and writing skills and come from poor backgrounds and broken homes. Frederick Douglass High is struggling to meet the expectations of Bush's controversial No Child Left Behind Act.
