'Lions, Tigers & Bears', Oh My!
Great song. Horrible video. I love Jazmine Sullivan just as much as you do but her 'Lions, Tigers & Bears' video is far from fantastic. Jazzy and the folks responsible for the making of this video went a bit overboard. The overuse of digital and visual effects take away from the beauty of the song. It's safe to say this video won't be a mainstay on '106 & Park.' In the midst of it all, Jazmine looks stunning throughout the video. Hit play and watch at your own risk.

Jazmine Sullivan, 'The Old Soul' of R&B
Jazmine Sullivan. The 21 year old R&B newcomer was recently nominated for five Grammys. The extra soulful 'In Love With Another Man' grabbed a nomination for Best Traditional R&B Performance. Jaz's performance on the track is full of vulnerability, sincerity, and maturity. It's hard to fathom the voice belongs to a 21 year old. Today, I came across the amazing video below. You may be one of the 578,023 people who have witnessed Jazmine singing 'In Love With Another Man' before staffers at Seventeen magazine. If you haven't witnessed this amazing clip, consider it an early Christmas gift. Enjoy.

Jazmine Sullivan Will 'Bust Your Windows'
I don't condone any female busting the windows out of any car but I'm really enjoying Jazmine Sullivan's latest video for 'Bust Your Windows.' Jazmine Sullivan can do no wrong in my eyes. The video is quite predictable but that isn't a bad thing. What would make a rational woman go insane and bust the windows out her man's car? There could only be two answers; she discovers that he is cheating or she comes across evidence that proves he has been unfaithful. That is exactly what happens in this video, Jazmine finds some suspicious panties tucked under her man's pillow. Hell have no fury like a black woman scorned. Jazmine's rage results in her destroying a few of her man's prized possessions. Unfortunately, we don't get to see Jazmine bust the windows out his car, but her man arrives home to work greeted by a trail of broken glass that leads to those damn panties.

Maxwell Is Glad To Be Back
In a recent interview with the NY Post Maxwell opened up about his six year hiatus, current tour, and upcoming album. Maxwell revealed that he had begun to question his decision to stay away from music for so long, "Did I take off too long?...did I kill my career?" After his surprising and show stopping performance at the recent BET Awards, Maxwell said he knew he had to make a comeback, "right then I knew it. I felt the energy and was like, 'It's time to go out on the road and meet the people again." He did just that, he is currently on tour with Jazmine Sullivan. (D'Angelo, did you hear that?) While many are disgusted with the outrageous ticket prices, venue after venue has sold out and more dates have been added due to the high demand. Speaking of his highly anticipated trilogy, Black Summers' Night, his first new project since 2001's Now, Maxwell revealed that a list of producers have yet to be confirmed but he is in talks with Q-Tip and hopes to collaborate with Swizz Beats, Jazmine Sullivan, and Aretha Franklin. Maxwell and Aretha, sounds interesting. An Aretha album produced by Maxwell sounds even better. Moving right along, if you can't afford to see Maxwell live, enjoy the YouTube video of Maxwell performing 'Whenever, Wherever, Whatever' in Amsterdam.

"I was so foolish to ever leave your side,
searching for what was right before my eyes
it was me who didnt realize
’till it was gone but now I know I need you in my life..."

R&B's Newest Addition

Clive Davis has been good to us. He resurrected Aretha's career in the 80's and he introduced us to Whitney Houston and Alicia Keys. His latest 'discovery' is Jazmine Sullivan, R&B's new 'it' girl. Without a doubt, the 21 year old Philly native possesses 'it.' Don't be fooled, Jazmine isn't like those other twenty-something so called R&B singers, Jazmine Sullivan can sannng. She grew up singing in church and made an appearance on Showtime At The Apollo at the tender age of 11. As a teenager she developed her vocal skills while performing at the famed Philly music den Black Lily. After an impromptu jam session with Stevie Wonder and an appearance on Wonder's 'Toys For Tot' show in LA the word was out and the rest is history. Her debut album Fearless drops September 16 via J Records. If for some odd reason the singles 'Need U Bad' and 'Bust Your Windows' have failed to capture your attention take a listen to 'Silent Tears' and 'In Love With Another Man.' Check out Jazmine performing 'What's Going On' at The Sugarbar.
