CNN Presents Black In America
While Barack Obama is hoping to become the first black president, CNN explores what it means to be black in America. 'CNN Presents Black In America' is a two part 4 hour documentary hosted by Soledad O'Brien. Part 1 'The Black Woman & Family' airs tomorrow night at 9 and explores "the varied experiences of black women and families and investigates the disturbing statistics of single parenthood, racial disparities between students and the devastating toll of HIV/AIDS." Part 2 'The Black Man', airing Thursday night at 9, evaluates "the state of black men in America and explores the controversial topics of black men and fatherhood; disparities between blacks and whites in educational, career and financial achievement; and factors leading to the dramatic rates of black male incarceration." In the wake of the possibility of a black man becoming president the good folks at CNN have decided to not only talk about black folks in February but to talk about us in July. "CNN Presents: Black In America", a six-television event, examines the complex issues, successes and struggles of black men, women and families. The special will air in July. Check out the website.
