The Adventures of Grandmaster Flash
"Don't push me, cause
I'm close to the edge
I'm trying not to loose my head

It's like a jungle sometimes, it makes me wonder
How I keep from going under .."

The above chorus belongs to one of hip hop's most memorable songs, "The Message," recorded by Grand Master Flash and The Furious Five. 26 years after releasing the thought provoking tale of ghetto life, Grand Master Flash has delivered a new message in his memoir "The Adventures of Grandmaster Flash: My Life, My Beats" co written with David Ritz.

Flash, born Joseph Saddler, chronicles his life, from his turbulent upbringing to the early days of hip hop to the drug addiction that nearly killed him. "This whole book was scary for me." Flash said in a recent interview. "We as human beings, we don't willingly display our skeletons, our pains, our hurts, not the deep, deep, deep ones."

Flash, who invented turntable techniques and brought hip hop to the forefront, currently host a weekly mix show on Sirius Satellite Radio and is working on a new album, The Bridge.
